It is with great excitement that the BothaRoodt Group welcomes Matla Market Agents on board. Matla Market Agents was established as an outflow of an agreement between Joburg Market and Makepisi Agricultural & BothaRoodt whereby a percentage of all produce sold of Makepisi must be done by a black market agent. BothaRoodt will take this agency under its wing, sponsor, manage and mentor the agency up to the point where it is a sustainable market agent. Joel Baloyi and Pitso Mofokeng, together with BothaRoodt are the shareholders.

No one can teach Mr Joel Baloyi anything about vegetables as he grew up on a vegetable farm where he learnt everything on the growing and producing side, after which he joined BothaRoodt Market Agents in 1988. Since 1994 Joel has been working at Marco Agents first as a Checker and since 2008 as a salesman.

Mr Pitso Mofokeng is also no stranger to the market. He has been working on Joburg Market since 1998 of which the last 10 years was at BothaRoodt. He started as a Checker before he got promoted to Sales Assistant in 2010.

We are very excited about what the future holds and we are so proud of these two talented gentlemen and the opportunity to have them spread their wings to fly to even bigger heights!

Gelukkig was daar 'n bankbestuurder in Tzaneen, 'n ene mnr.

God is saying to you today,
"Everything will work out
Im in complete control.
I know what the medical report says.
I know what the financial situationlooks like.
I see people who are coming against you.
I know how big your dreanms are
And hear me clearly
I will not fail you
"

Sean Engelbrecht (Green Network) and Adrihan Kruger (Marco Fruit) attended the opening launch of the brand new Food Lover’s Market at the New Market Mall in Alberton and boy is this a treat! Alberton residents have been waiting in anticipation for the opening of this stunning store and the wait was definitely worth it. Residents are streaming in daily to buy some of the highest quality fresh produce, freshly baked goods and freshly ground coffee.

Fruit & Veg City was started in 1993 by brothers Brian and Mike Coppin. Since the beginning it has always been a family business, with emphasis placed on good old family values such as wholesomeness, trust, honesty and integrity. The brothers’ vision was to create a store that would resemble a marketplace of old, where farmers brought their fresh produce from their farms to be sold to the public. This was how their first store in Kenilworth, Cape Town was run, and this is how every Fruit & Veg City store that has opened since is also run. The dedication to freshness at an affordable price has always remained one of the cornerstones on which Fruit & Veg City is built. Today there are more than 100 Fruit & Veg City stores throughout Southern Africa, and even as far afield as Australia. Yet, it remains a family business with brothers Brian and Mike still running the day to day operations of the company. Their vision is still visible in every Fruit & Veg City & food Lovers Market store, where freshness and value are placed at a premium.

We wish this Food Lover’s Market all the best with the new store and may your grow from strength to strength!!
